What can you use the app for?

PiZap is an online photo editing application. Users can begin editing a new photo from the PiZap homepage. Users can make a collage, edit individual photos, work with backgrounds, choose web cam effects or create timeline covers for Facebook. Each option includes a list of unique templates and themes to begin. The user chooses one and adds one or more photos (depending on the template requirements). Users can also add text and other graphic elements, such as images, shapes and special effects. A basic paintbrush tool is available and lets users draw directly on the canvas. Users can add borders and cutouts as well. A gallery of edited photos can be explored from the PiZap homepage.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

PiZap was created to provide users with another way to edit images and build collages. The application contains a number of fun tools, all of which are geared towards casual users. A Facebook timeline builder was recently added and is still in beta. Most user reviews praise PiZap for its many unique functions and artistic extras, such as stylish graphics and colorful borders that can be added to any image.

What are the differences to other apps?

Just like other photo editing tools, PiZap stands out by offering a number of unique visual extras. Users can choose from a collection of graphics, add text or draw right on the image. PiZap has added another layer of appeal for its users by creating a Facebook Timeline builder. Users can customize their Facebook profile when using the social network’s new timeline layout. Users can access many features for free or upgrade with points.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

PiZap can make eye-catching images, however the application itself looks busier than it really should. Users will notice that the buttons and other visual elements are not terribly modern in appearance. They seem scattered on the page. A feeling of disorder is further worsened by the animated banners found throughout each page. PiZap has a lot of potential in terms of features, but the interface could use a good tidying up.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can try PiZap by clicking the blue “Free Sign Up” link in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage (under the chat bubble logo). The form on the next page is accompanied by a blue “Facebook” button for users who prefer to connect their social networking account. Others can provide a username, password and email address. Users must be at least 13 years old to create a PiZap account.

What does it cost to use the application?

PiZap is available to all users for free. There are no subscription fees and users can create and edit as many images as they like. The application offers a few “upgradZ” that cost “pointZ.” These include special stickers for 25pointZ and removal of the PiZap logo on all future images for 100 pointZ. The site doesn’t provide a pointZ buying option, users instead earn them by completing actions. All new users receive 25 pointZ for signing up.

Who would you recommend the application to?

PiZap is a fun photo editor geared towards a younger crowd. Users can create collages with numerous photos or edit one photo at a time. The application provides a decent selection of colorful images, stickers and borders to work with. Users can also earn points to buy more stickers by being active within the PiZap community. Many users can find fun, interesting ways to dress up their photo collection or Facebook profile.
